The Grand Pappa of the sea and funk
Lived on a boat that could not be sunk
Upon it came the King of all the lands

The Grand Pappa then called upon a monk
Who poured water on the King’s, then declared
Soul Junk.
And so a pact was made with the King and the Grand
The funky, smooth liquid and the hard rocking land
They’d be friends forever without a demand
Except that they would be together in a band.
The friendship lasted for centuries and more
It even survived a small civil war
The two men’s love for music was so strong
That they would forgive each other when ever they had done wrong.
Their band brought peace for those in the sea and on the earth
But to the skies their glory had not given birth.
Together they met with the Lord of the Air
He was a sky captain, a pirate, The Air Corsair.
He went to the Grand and to the King
“Oh brother and brother I do decide to sing.”
He sang up to the skies
His truth was told against the lies
There is another to this story that was there from the start
In the band which he plays a major part
He was the lord of life, the Prince of Soul
They needed him and he them to be whole
You see together they were the legendary four
And without them there would be no law
Such was the impact that their band made
Their songs and teachings would never fade
